MB&F M.A.D 1 'Time to Love' x Castelbajac From the mind of creative genius Max Busser of MB&F comes the M.A.D 1, a simply bananas watch that has allowed the brilliance of MB&F to reach more collectors hands. And given MB&F is one of our very favourite brands here at WV, we think that's something really special. This version was released in 2024, and is a collaboration with famous designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. It still Utilises a 42mm case in steel and sapphire, and the same Miyota 821A that has been significantly reworked and is flipped upside down. The rotor blades are covered in blue, yellow and red lacquer and have been shaped like wings, with one blade heavier than the others to optimise winding. The hour and minute time telling discs on the flanks of the case are now fashioned in green and black, and the indices are in Castelbajac's handwriting - a very cool tough. Below the rotor where the traditional minute track would lay is an inscription - 'Ce trésor rare et précieux, c’est ta vie. Le temps vole de ses ailes blanches. Tu es le gardien de ton temps' which translates to '‘This rare and precious treasure is your life. Time flies with its white wings. You are the guardian of your time.’ It comes equipped on a black strap with 'Time to Love' embroidered on it, and a spare white strap with the same message. Certainly a very unconventional watch, but that's what MB&F's are all about. This particular piece has just been delivered, and remains new and unworn. Plastic removed for photos only.
