Born on May 14, 1953 in East Berlin, Hysek moved with his family to Geneva in 1960, shortly before the construction of the Berlin Wall. He studied micromechanics in Biel and later trained as a watchmaker in Pforzheim. His artistic ambitions led him further into sculpture studies at the London Academy of Art, an influence that later became central to his design philosophy. Hysek began his career at Rolex before founding his own design studio, Hysek Styling, through which he collaborated with some of the most prestigious names in Swiss watchmaking, including Vacheron Constantin, Breguet, Cartier, Omega, TAG Heuer, Tiffany & Co., and others.
