For sale is a rare and highly desirable Favre-Leuba Sea Sky Chronograph (Ref. 33043), powered by the iconic Valjoux 72 manual-wind movement. History & Provenance: This watch is a true "family heirloom" piece. It was purchased new in the 1970s and has been in my family ever since, inherited from my grandfather. It has spent the last 40+ years unused in storage and is offered in its honest, unpolished vintage condition. Bracelet: The watch comes on its period-correct and valuable Swiss Made NSA stainless steel bracelet. These bracelets are highly collectible in their own right. Condition Report: Case: Excellent unpolished condition, with sharp edges visible. Shows honest signs of wear consistent with age. Dial: The original champagne dial with blue bezel shows natural patina. Movement: Currently not running. Given its 40-year storage, the oils have dried up. However, the movement winds, and a steady ticking sound can be heard, suggesting the internal components and balance are intact. Consulted a master watchmaker who confirmed that a routine service should restore perfect working order. Functions: All chronograph pushers operate functionally. Reason for sale: I am not a watch collector and I have no desire to undertake the restoration process myself. I would rather see this complete piece go to a collector who appreciates the Valjoux 72 and Sea Sky heritage. Note: The watch comes as-is, without the original box. It is recently professionally cleaned (ultrasonic) to remove dirt while preserving the metal's patina.
